Abstract: Cloud computing has become the technology of choice for companies seeking the agility and flexibility necessary to accelerate innovation and meet the expectations of today’s modern consumers. However, migrating to more dynamic cloud environments requires new security approaches to ensure that data remains protected across online infrastructures, applications, and platforms. Cloud security encompasses the cybersecurity policies, best practices, controls, and technologies designed to safeguard applications, data, and infrastructure in these environments. Its primary goals are to protect storage and networks from internal and external threats, manage access and data, ensure compliance, and facilitate disaster recovery. This includes implementing security policies, practices, controls, and technologies such as identity and access management and data loss prevention tools to defend against unauthorized access, online attacks, and insider threats. This paper aims to highlight the challenges of cloud security management to guide security professionals in adopting a cloud-based approach that enhances security without increasing risk.
