Abstract

A high-quality business environment is currently the basis for the long-term development of entrepreneurial activity, the prosperity of the state, but also the quality of life in the state. It is a prerequisite for the long-term competitiveness and growth of every market economy. The quality of the business environment in Slovakia is influenced by two levels. The first is the legislative framework; the second is the specific social and economic conditions in specific regions, such as the development of transport infrastructure, the composition of local industry, or availability of labor. Despite the overall improvement of the business environment in recent years, Slovakia is starting to lag within the region. The aim of the paper is to evaluate the quality of the business environment in the SR through relevant indexes. Then we compare the quality of the business environment of the SR with the V4 countries.

Key words
